I watch as my lamb leaves with her ladyâs maid, still enthralled with how amazing she is. I lean back against the bar with a lazy smile on my lips. She is simply perfect, and I can already feel myself wanting to write. I move to leave when Edward stops me. His eyes glared at me, daring me to leave him before they talked about what just happened.
âSo? You and little lady huh?â I tease.
âFuck you, first off. She is a little brat and means nothing to me.â Edward growled. âThat is not what we are going to talk about. What the fuck do you mean we are staying here? You know you must keep moving.â
I roll my eyes and go behind the bar to pour myself another glass of bourbon and clean Miss. Lottingtonâs glass. âLook ââ
âNo! Nicholas, if she learns, no, if her father, learns you are here, you will be arrested and executed!â
I sigh deeply. I know he is right, but ⦠âI have to take that risk.â I look at him and see the tired look in his eyes. The two of us have been inseparable since childhood. We got into trouble a lot, and it continued in our adulthood, till finally, we found the best way to get back at the man who killed our parents. Mr. John Lottington. He owns the Bank of Lottington and to get to where he was, he was not afraid to get his hands dirty, by forcing people out of their businesses and going as far as killing them as he did to mine and Edwardâs parents who refused him again and again.
It is a huge surprise to see my muse, my lamb is none other than the man who destroyed my life is his daughter. We have robbed a lot of Mr. Lottingtonâs banks, and we have yet to be caught. The only reason he knows itâs me robbing his banks is because I did it in front of him while holding a gun to his face. The man was too scared to move, and I promised him I would destroy everything he held dear.
âNicholas!â Edward snapped me out of my thoughts, and I looked over at him.
âSorry about that mate,â I rub my hand over my face before finishing off my drink and washing that glass. âWhat were you saying?â
âI said, are you thinking of using Miss. Lottington to destroy her father? I admit, itâd be a smart idea.â
âNo!â I growled before moving towards my room upstairs.
âNicholas, why not! You are missing out on the best revenge for our parents!â He snarled.
I shake my head and grip the hair at the base of my neck. âI cannot do that to her. She is my muse!â he explained.
Edward moves to the front of his door, which is next to mine. âThe only reason you are even writing poetry is because it gets you to travel to the different areas where he sets up his banks we rob. You need to remember why we are doing this.
